STATEMENT
I have always believed that time, craftmanship and authenticity are the pillars of a creative and meaningful life. Therefore, I retreated from my previous career to develop my work in solitude and anonymity.
I create hand-embroidered art inspired by liturgical and tribal traditions -- shamanistic manuscripts worn for purification and to provide visual comfort. Each cope can take 4 to 5 month to complete, giving me the opportunity to slowly tell stories about my life, our culture, and the challenging times we live in.
I sign all my works with the letters JTI that stands for “JE TU ILS” -- French for ‘"ME YOU THEM." Through self-development (ME), I am expressing myself to serve those around me (YOU) and hopefully those whom I will never meet in life (THEM).
